JOB PURPOSE
The Process Technician plays a crucial role in transforming raw milk into various semi-finished and finished products by operating equipment and monitoring processes while ensuring product quality and food safety. The Process Technician contributes to the efficient functioning of the production process while adhering to strict quality standards and safety regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and oversee equipment involved in efficient milk intake and milk processing, including but not limited to, pasteurization, homogenization, and separation, ensuring the daily production order is fulfilled.
- Ensure milk is processed according to specifications for different end products.
- Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates to ensure optimal operation.
- Perform timely quality checks and make necessary corrections when required.
- Raise maintenance requests.
- Adhere to strict hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and sanitized production environment and equipment to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
- Identify, report, and investigate sources of waste within the operations, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage milk and ingredient stocks by following FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Adhere to the 5S principles to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
- Collect and analyze data related to the product and process.
- Handle raw materials as required while operating material handling equipment.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices to create a safe work environment. Report any equipment or work practices that could danger one’s health or safety.
- Foster strong relationships and effective communication channels with cross-functional teams & departments to ensure seamless coordination and information sharing.
- Actively participating in training sessions (receiving and delivering).
- Perform other relevant tasks assigned by superiors as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
- A minimum of MQF Level 4 Qualification and/or previous experience in a similar role is desirable and would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or a food preparation establishment will be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of production processes, equipment setup, and troubleshooting.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make adjustments quickly.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
- Proficient in computer use, especially Microsoft Office tools.
